On the afternoon of September 14, the opening ceremony of the 2021 class (3rd batch) of the Joint Master of Nursing Science Degree Program between Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) and Burapha University in Thailand(BUU) was held at the School of Nursing, WMU. Leaders and faculty members from both universities took part in the ceremony online or offline.

At the ceremony, the two universities respectively introduced their accomplishments in the joint program and addressed future goals. Li Xudong, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Nursing of WMU made the welcome speech and delivered high expectation towards students. Dr. Chintana Wacharasin, Director of the joint program from BUU, then gave a detailed explanation in terms of curriculum, learning content, graduation requirements, and regulations, etc. She also patiently answered questions proposed by students.

The Joint Master of Nursing Science Degree Program is the first Sino-foreign cooperative education program of WMU in postgraduate level. The program adopts the independent recruitment mode and students who fulfill all the training plans and meet the requirements for the awarding of degrees can acquire the Master's degree in nursing conferred by Burapha University in Thailand. Since its beginning in 2019, there have been 74 students enrolled, of which 27 are 2021 freshmen. The program has drawn wide attention among nursing students and healthcare personnel. The two universities would, based on the current joint program, continue to promote collaborations in international education, academic and scientific researches, so to better train international nursing personnel.
